7 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Gym
We don’t consider ourselves a regular gym, nor do we think training with us is considered a regular gym experience.. so we thought we’d provide a beginner’s guide on getting the most out of your time at Women of Treign.
1. Introduce yourself
A big part about what makes our gym so special is our Treign Tribe.
When you train with us, you train in a room of strong, fired up, supportive women who want you to succeed just as much as they want it for themselves. Introduce yourself, get to know them and you’ll likely find yourself a new set of friends.
2. Try all the classes
This is something I recommend to all our new members.
Even if you already know what you want to get out of your training, try all of the classes. You might find areas of your fitness you didn’t know needed improvement and you might find some things that you’re awesome at and really effing enjoy!
3. Do your homework
When you start training here with us, we’re going to give you some extra things to work on.
This will be unique to you and your body, and will likely be related to helping you move better and activating certain muscles that aren’t currently activating.
Do the homework, we promise it’s worth it.
4. Set some goals
Now that you’ve tried all of the classes and you know a bit more about your strengths & weaknesses, time to set some goals!
We encourage all of our girls to set at least one or two performance based goals. Setting goals to improve different areas of your fitness will help keep you on track and motivated with your training. Make sure you keep them specific, measurable and actionable.
5. Be proactive in seeking help
At the end of the day, you are the one responsible for your own success, but that doesn’t mean you’re on your own!
The programming, the coaches, the classes - are all fantastic resources in helping you achieve your goals. But if you feel like you need a bit of extra help with your nutrition, managing your stress and sleep, learning a new skill or need some extra work outside of class, girl we got you! All of the coaches are here because we genuinely care about helping you achieve your goals and want you to be your happiest, healthiest self. You just have to let us know.
6. Be consistent
We say this often and we’ll keep on sayin’ it - consistency is queen.
Decide how many classes per week and which days will work best for you and your lifestyle, and stick to that schedule. Treat it like an appointment with your most important client: yourself, and only break an appointment if you really, really need to.
7. Be prepared
Be prepared… to work hard, to get uncomfortable, to lose your voice screaming encouraging words to your new teammates, for endless high fives, to learn what your body is capable of, to be hungry for more and to be changed in a meaningful and permanent way.
